German Dinner & Entertainment
Sauerbraten, kassler rippchen, German beer and live entertainment — an annual fundraising feast running since about 2010.
Once a year, the Trinity gym turns into a German dining hall.
The German Dinner & Entertainment fundraiser has been an annual tradition since about 2010. The catered menu leans proudly on the community’s Pomeranian-German roots: sauerbraten, kassler rippchen (smoked pork chops), red cabbage, and German potato salad, with German beer and wine to wash it down.
More than a meal
Entertainment is always part of the afternoon — accordion music, concerts, and sing-alongs have all featured over the years. (One year the entertainers, the quadruplet ensemble Vintage Mix, went from the Trinity gym to the Carnegie Hall stage two weeks later.) A handmade quilt auction has often capped the event.
Reservations are typically required — watch the society’s Facebook page for the menu, price, and reservation number when the date is announced.
Proceeds support the historical site and the society’s mission work.
